Blaine walked beside Kurt to the Ice Cream Parlour, his mind racing. He started having doubts. Was he really ready to help Kurt raise a child? He always knew he wanted to be a father, but…not this soon. What if he didn’t know what to do? What if everything he knew about raising a child, which was very little, wasn’t even right? He chewed on his bottom lip, breathing heavily and he tried to calm down. I can do this he kept repeating in his head.
He had to keep in mind he was doing this for Kurt. Kurt didn’t deserve to be left alone in a situation like this. Two people raising a child in school is one then, but to have to do it alone? Plus, him and Kurt were engaged. Blaine leaving Kurt at a time like this would be the biggest asshole move in the world. Blaine had to keep in mind the positives. He loves kids, and Rosemary sounded sweet by the way Kurt talked about her. Maybe Rosemary isn’t a devil child..
Blaine frowned a little as Kurt’s hand left his until he saw Kurt’s father. He looked at the little girl and smiled, waving a little. He stood awkwardly, unable to fight the smile as he watched Kurt talk to Rosemary. Blaine’s heart dropped as the two words left the little girl’s lips. Blaine saw the panic in Kurt’s eyes. Blaine’s mouth fell open to say something, but nothing came out. He just watched Burt then went back to nervously biting his lip and playing with his fingers. As soon as the child spoke, or tried to, his name, he smiled, looking down. He bit the corner of his lip, eyes bright as he listened to the two.
Blaine tensed when he was mentioned. At the moment, he much preferred just standing there watching. Burt was already making him even more nervous. Blaine put on a smile and looked up at Kurt, his eyes wide, then to Rosemary. What if she didn’t like him? “Hi sweetie.” He spoke softly, trying to avoided the nerves from coming through his voice. He chuckled and stuck his hand out, she shook it, her small hand only covering the top of two of his fingers. “I get that a lot.” he replied. She kept a hold of his two fingers. “Rosemary is a beautiful name.” Blaine said, swallowing the huge lump in his throat. He looked at Kurt for any kind of approval. He assumed this would be easy, but he didn’t know what to say. He didn’t actually think he’d be this nervous.
Rosemary seemed to like Blaine’s presence. She wasn’t one to enjoy strangers’ presence. She was extremely reserved for her age. Living with her mother only, she had to mature early and learn her responsibilities. She wouldn’t be the one to run everywhere and play until dark. She did everything her mother asked her and with her brother’s help, she would do a few chores, cleaning her room, placing her toys at their place. She wouldn’t eat much candy even though she loved it.
She hasn’t been much smiley and happy since her mother died. She was too young to understand, even if she was extremely smart for her age. She knew Kurt very well. He was the only cousin she would see on a regular basis. He was her favorite and everyone knew it. He was the father she never had. Kurt didn’t realize it but after years of babysitting her, feeding her, changing her, putting her to sleep, being there when she needed him, he knew he was important for her.
It made Kurt sighed with relief. Seeing her accepting Blaine was enough. It was the only thing he feared. She wasn’t comfortable with strangers. He knew it would take a while for her to get comfortable around Blaine but he was ready to help her through it. She was extremely accepting of Kurt and his preferences for boys. It never was an issue in the family. Raising her at Hogwarts was going to be extremely hard. He was glad to be graduating soon. He was going to dedicate a full year to her, surely buying an apartment somewhere or maybe even staying at Hogwarts with a little convincing.
Kurt looked at Blaine as he interacted with Rosemary. He saw the worry on his face. He moved the little girl, holding her in one arm, freeing the other one to hold Blaine’s hand, giving him support. He smiled and nodded at his fiancé, letting him know that he was doing fine. Rosemary ginned at Blaine’s comment. She tapped on Kurt’s shoulder, making him lean. She whispered in his ear, making Kurt giggle. He turned to Blaine, holding Rosemary. “She wants you to hold her,” Kurt smiled. He let Blaine take her. Once she was settled on him, she poked his bow tie. “That’s funny.” Kurt laughed, wrapping an arm around Blaine, completely forgetting his father. He leaned his head on Blaine’s shoulder, looking at how peaceful Rosemary looked with Blaine.

A white owl flew next to his head, a young child in his black robe ran after the bird. He smiled, looking all around him, young wizards and witches running from store to store. Their parents followed them, trying to catch up with their children. It was their last day of freedom, their classes starting the next morning. Kurt missed Diagon Alley. He always remembered the first time he walked down the street, entering the magic shops, holding a wand for the first time. It felt like yesterday. He was now eighteen, engaged with the most beautiful boy and was expecting a child. His father said he was going to be at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, probably cheating on Rosemary’s healthy food diet and planning on giving her sugar, knowing that Kurt was going to be strict about the food going into her mouth.
Kurt knew that he had to be strong. He wasn’t expecting this to happen. He had to cope with his aunt’s death. She was the last adult of the their family, his mother and grandparents being dead. Now, the only thing he had left were souvenirs, pictures and Rosemary. She was his mother’s niece, although, she died before she was even born. He didn’t want to become a father before thirty. He was too young to take care of a child. He promised Alice he would after all. It was now his duty to take in Rosemary and raise her like Alice would have. He wondered if the school would even let them take her in. He knew his father talked to the principal but they never had any official answer from him. He wondered what they would do when they both had classes, if she would call them Daddy or Uncle. She was a witch so there was no trouble about her being into the magical world and staying there.
Like Blaine had promised, he came with Kurt, supporting him. Kurt breathed as he saw his father sitting outside the shop, Rosemary on his lap and feeding her strawberry ice cream. He turned his head, looking at Blaine. “We’re going to be fathers…” He smiled, squeezing his hand and walking to them. “Hi dad,” he let go of Blaine’s hand to hug his father. His father sensed the nervousness in Kurt. “It’s going to be okay, kiddo.” He nodded. His whole body was shaking. He looked down to the three years old girl. “Hello sweetie. How are you? I missed you..” Kurt tried to stay strong in front of her. She lifted up her round head, her blue eyes looking in Kurt’s. “Mama’s dead.” Kurt panicked, looking at his fiancé and father for help. His father stood up, making Kurt hold the child in his arms. He tapped his shoulder. “I know you can do it,” he said before going next to Blaine. Kurt sat down on the chair, Rosemary settling comfortably on him and laying her head on his chest. “I miss Mama and Papa. Uncle Bu-Burt says they won’t come back. He said I’m gonna live with you and Baine.” Kurt laughed. “It’s Blaine. Yes, you’re staying with Blaine and I. We live in a really big and old castle with magic and moving stairs.” She moved her head, her eyes sparkling for the first time in days. “Weally?” Kurt nodded and kissed her hair, holding her tight.
He turned to her, trying to change his mind. “Do you want to meet Blaine?” She nodded, grinning. Kurt stood up, joining Blaine and his father. He turned so she could have a better view of him. “Rosemary, meet Blaine. You’re going to live with him and I so you do everything Blaine tells you to do, okay?” She nodded and extended her hand for him to shake. “Your name is hard to say.”
You’re sweet, Mr. Hummel. I like people who compliment me. I think this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
You’re the sweet one here. I completely agree.

Awh, well aren’t you a charmer?
My friend did tell me I’m a sparkle snatcher, but I’m not sure that’s anything magical.
I try.

A sparkle snatcher? I’m sure it means something good. I, for say, think you’re absolutely adorable.

I’ll never give up hope! Being magical is a thousand times more awesome than being a muggle.
Even if you’re not a wizard, well a witch in your case, it doesn’t mean that you don’t have anything magical in you. I’m sure your personality is full of magic.

Nice to meet you, Kurt! I’m Stephanie. No, I don’t. I think my admissions letter got lost in the mail or something. Or perhaps I really am just a muggle; though that seems a rather dull fate.
Nice to meet you too, Stephanie! That’s a pretty name. Oh.. Well you’ve clearly already heard about Hogwarts, you can’t be just a muggle. I’m sure it was just a mistake. Don’t give your hopes up.

Hi!

I’m Kurt Hummel, seventh year Ravenclaw. Do you go to Hogwarts? I don’t remember seeing you before..

First of all I want you to know that you’re completely normal.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, the acts that you’re doing or the thoughts that you have. It’s human and we all have them even if it’s just once.
If you’re seeking for help, it means that you don’t want to be in the situation that you are right now. You want to help yourself and get better. It sounds stupid but that’s your first step. Talking about it. Even if other people can see it, it doesn’t matter because talking about it is going to get you better. It won’t make you stop.
That’s where you get in. Britt, San or I won’t be the ones who will make you stop. We’re not by your side at every hour of the day. (If I could, I would.) You need to understand that even though you might want the pain to end right now, it won’t. It takes a lot of time. It can be years or days, but it won’t be minutes.
Talking about it might not be a big change for you, but the more you will, the more you’ll feel free. You need to think of anything to distract yourself from hurting. It can be literally anything. It can be a show, a book, food, a memory, anything. You need to distract yourself from all the darkness inside of you. What personally got me through was Darren and Starkid and Glee. I was on Youtube one day, it was going to be my last day on Earth, but I accidentally found A Very Potter Musical and for the first time in weeks, I was smiling and laughing. It was just a stupid video but it literally changed everything.
If you become obsessed with the pain, that you’re starting to enjoy it, that’s another level. You need to know that every second you spend trying to hurt yourself is only making your life worse. You can think about what you want to be later, your goals in life, what you like to do and your friends and us. What do you think would be the best for you. Seeing what’s in for the future or emotionally and physically hurting yourself before you’ve reached your goals. You can set small goals at first. You don’t need to set “be a doctor” or “be a lawyer” as your goal. It can simply be “finish high school” or “stop thinking about pain, sadness and hurt”. The more you get closer to your goals, the more you’ll feel pride, confidence and you’ll start believing in yourself again.
It’s completely okay to be lost and confused but you need to know that there’s plenty of small roads that you can take. The one that everyone wants to take is the yellow brick one. Sadly, nobody ever took it. They had to cross dark forest and defeat evil witches to get to the Emerald city. You need to fight the wicked Witch inside of you to be able to each the Emerald city. When you’ll do, I swear you won’t feel any hurt anymore. But that’s your own choice. I would prefer you to fight against the evil but if you absolutely think you can’t, that there’s no magic sword to fight with, then continue hurting yourself. I can’t decide for you and either can anybody else. We can only tell you that it’s not something you should do and try to convince you, but we’re not the ones who’s going to make the final choice.
If you ever want to talk about it even more and you’re feeling insecure about certain subjects being published, come off anon and nothing will be published on here. If you do have a Tumblr, yes I might creep but I won’t judge. I’m just here to help you and tell you that everything is going to be okay.
